South India is a place where many savour worthy vegetarian dishes have evolved as well as certain dishes which are rather contemporary and are a mixture of the various influences . North India has many of it’s own delicious Vegetarian Dishes. There are many Vegeterian dishes like main course dishes, finger foods, snacks as well as curries . Navratan Korma is a vegetarian dish which is originally inherited from the Mughals who conquered and ruled India. The Navratan means Nine Gems and it’s the inclusion of nine ingredients which go into the curry. It’s usually light and has yogurt, cottage cheese, paste of nuts , coconut milk as well as various fruits and vegetables.

Aloo Tikki (Potato Croquet/Cutlet):
Potato is known as Aloo in India and is a part of most Indian’s everyday menu. Aloo Tikki is actually small potato croquettes which are very easy to make. All you need to make this mouth-watering finger food is some mashed boiled potatoes, ginger, coriander leaves, bread slices, coriander, cumin and chili powder and some oil. It’s very easy to make and makes for a great evening snack. You can also use it to make aloo tikki chaat(A street snack) adding some tamarind water, some chaat masala and a few pieces of hand crushed papdi.
Dosa is a South Indian dish which consists of a fermented crepe pancake which is mainly made from black lentils and rice batter. It is filled in with many different mixture of potatoes and spices. The most common being the Masala Dosa. It is ideally served with a White Coconut Chutney and Sambhar (A South Indian dish ). A dosa is widely eaten and is a great dish to make for your kids or for the perfect Breakfast instead of the usual Idlis.

Rajma or Kidney Beans are a great source of Proteins and are used to make the traditional dish called Rajma. It is made with popular Indian spices, tomato puree, kidney beans and more. It makes for a great dish to serve along with Rice and is quite tasty.
Dum Aloo /potato Curry:
Potato or Aloo as it’s known in India as is a prominent item in each Indian’s everyday diet. Dum aloo is one of the most common and most savored potato dish in the country. The potatoes are cooked with Indian spices and tomatoes with occasional use of chickpeas flour, garam masala, lemon juice and more. The dish is spicy, and is quite suitable for being a part of your dinner menu.
